Nelson Region
In a move that bucks the current economic climate, the merger has already created new employment in the region with more to follow. Quickfall Associates director and new ViaStrada director Tony Quickfall will be joined by Sue McAuley who has over 25 years experience in all aspects of traffic engineering and transport planning, including projects in the top of the South. Sue will bring extensive expertise to the Nelson regional office, through her work nationally and in Australia.
The merging of the two businesses has fallen into place as a result of the following:
- A shared vision to create a leading and innovative consultancy of first choice in the top of the south.
- An increasing need for specialised traffic expertise on a number of planning projects, and the very close overlaps between land use planning and transport / traffic planning.
- A desire for ViaStrada to establish a presence in Nelson to service its own growing client base in the top of the south.
- A desire for ViaStrada to gain additional resources to service its rapidly growing national demand for its expertise
- Closely aligned business and corporate philosophies, including commitment to service, quality advice, and responsiveness to client needs.
- Advantages in being able to offer a range of professional services.
The new office will provide an expanded range of professional services including:
- Resource management and town planning;
- Cutting-edge traffic and transport planning; and
- Environmental noise and air quality assessments.
- Immediate access to a national resource base of 30 planners, traffic engineers, civil engineers and draughting and environmental health staff to assist with projects in the top of the South.
- The benefit of a large pool of national and international projects, with the ability to draw on specialist expertise in particular areas.
