Selwyn Proposed District Plan - Hazardous Substances
Project Objective:
Revision of the Objective, Policies and Rules in the Selwyn Proposed District Plan relating to Hazardous Substances ViaStrada assisted the Council by providing expert advice on the management of hazardous substances for all stages of the Variation, to address inconsistencies within the District Plan and with other relevant documents (including HSNO legislation and the Natural Resources Regional Plan). This included:
- preparing the Variation document and the RMA Section 32 evaluation,
- presenting evidence at the Council's hearing of public submissions,
- preparing technical evidence for the Council's defence of an appeal to the Environment Court, and
- participating in mediation on the appeal.
