Marsden Park

Project Objective:
Obtain resource consent and coordinate planning approvals

Nelson’s Largest development.  Tony Quickfall is the planning advisor to Marsden Park, where a 600 lot mixed use subdivision and new commercial area is proposed for Marsden Valley, Nelson.  Not just another subdivision, this project involves leading edge urban design, a network of walking and cycle links, and extensive landscaping.
The unique setting in a hidden valley offers the prospect of something quite unique, with the development being promoted as best practice urban design. Tony has been instrumental in securing resource consent for 130 lots, and has been successful in convincing Nelson City Council to adopt a private plan change rezoning the entire area as Council’s own plan change.  He has also been heavily involved in contributing to the overall design and has taken a coordination role for the planning approvals.  Notification of the plan change is expected in October 2009, with the project expected to take 20 years or longer to reach full development.
