After extensive planning, the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) has begun construction of a nine-year, $700M+ series of projects, the Christchurch Roads of National Significance (RoNS).

ViaStrada produced a discussion document identifying various principles to clarify and standardise the CCC's position on RoNS and helped CCC staff and other stakeholders understand the complex inter-relationships amongst the many projects.

The Selwyn District Council (SDC) proposes to revise the District Plan's transport provisions to ensure they reflect the strategic direction of Council. Recent updates and amendments to national and regional policy documents will also be reviewed.

The task was to audit the applications by Central Plains Water to establish an 85,000 hectare irrigation scheme drawing water from the Rakaia and Waimakariri Rivers.

ViaStrada has been commissioned by Eliot Sinclair & Partners Limited on behalf of Micah Properties Limited to provide a Traffic Impact Assessment in relation to a proposed plan change on Woodbank Road. It is proposed to rezone this land for residential purposes.

For Northlands Mall, we were commissioned to explore access options and designs through to obtaining Resource Consent from the City Council.

A proposed small scale gem and fossil museum in Birdlings Flat, a beach popular with rock collectors, generated much interest from neighbours. An assessment was required in terms of the policies, objectives and rules of the District Plan and impacts on the surrounding road network.

A pre-school was proposed with road safety issues associated with access and egress onto the main road. An assessment was required in terms of the policies, objectives and rules of the District Plan and the overall effects of the proposal on the road network.

This assessment considered the industrial subdivision proposal with respect to the traffic related effects on the safety and efficiency of the State Highway 1 / Northpark Road intersection and approaches and in terms of the relevant rules, policies and objectives of the District Plan.

A proposed office extension triggered the need to examine the overall car parking supply and demand within the Rangiora Township. The project involved detailed surveys of parking demand and an assessment of the effects of the proposal on the surrounding road network.
