The 7th New Zealand Cycling Conference will be held on 12 & 13 November 2009 (Thursday & Friday) in New Plymouth.

Presentations are now being called for from sector professionals, policy makers, advocates, elected representatives, researchers and other interested people.


Adele Burbidge joined the Nelson office of ViaStrada on 9 April 2009 as a Planner.

This editorial (6 April 2009) from the Medical Journal of Australia (MJA) provides compelling evidence for encouraging cycling from a health perspective.  We know what to do in our communities to significantly increase the safety of cycling and the numbers of cyclists. What is needed now is action.

ViaStrada runs a series of award-winning one-day courses to introduce the principles of planning and design for cycling in New Zealand. Developed in conjunction with the NZ Transport Agency to meet the needs of the NZ transportation industry. An early bird discount is available for registrations received on or before Thurs 30 July 09.

ViaStrada is offering two SIDRA INTERSECTION training courses to be held in Auckland in April 2009.

Two day Beginner training course, 20 & 21 April 2009.
Two day Intermediate training course, 22 & 23 April 2009.

ViaStrada entered two three-person relay teams in this year's Le Race, the iconic cycle race from Christchurch to Akaroa. And both teams brought home first prize. Congratulations!
